Our First Lady
Lady Cindy Thomas is the devoted wife of the senior pastor of Highview Christian Fellowship, Bishop Phillip O. Thomas. The couple wed in 1979 and together they are the proud parents of one son, Phillip, twin daughters, Brittany and Brooke, two sons-in-law, Deon and Lawrence, and seven grandchildren, Jaylen, Jarrell, Lawrence, Jr., Nyla, Chelsea, Bethany and Lacey. One of her greatest joys is spending time with her family.
Throughout the years, Lady Cindy has served in many capacities at Highview, including Youth Ministry Leader, Newsletter Editor, Women’s Ministry Council, and as a member of the Highview Staff. She has also enjoyed being a part of the Highview’s music ministry, which is where she would eventually meet and marry the love of her life when he came to serve as director of the Young Adult Choir. Under the direction of Bishop Thomas, the Young Adult Choir sang and ministered in churches and venues in the DC, Maryland and Virginia region. Along with her husband, Lady Cindy cherishes fond memories of their early years at Highview and attributes much of their Christian growth to the teaching and leadership of their Pastor, the late Elder James A. Reid.
In addition to serving in church ministry, Lady Cindy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology (IT) and has been an IT professional with the federal government and as a government contractor for over thirty years.
Lady Cindy finds comfort in Philippians 4:6-7 "6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
