What We Believe

What We Believe

We believe in the scriptures of the Old and New testaments in the original writings as being the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God; and that the Bible is our supreme and final authority in all matters regarding faith and life.

We believe in one Perfect, Infinite, Holy and Eternal God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit, each having the same nature, attributes and perfections and each worthy of the same worship and obedience.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead; and that He baptizes, seals, indwells, regenerates all believing sinners at the moment of salvation.

We believe in Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God; His virgin birth; His substitutionary sacrifice for our sins; His literal resurrection from the dead; His present ministry as our High Priest in heaven; and His in-person, literal, and imminent return.

We believe that salvation by grace through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ is available freely to every man; all who receive Him as Savior and Lord are born immediately into the family of God.

We believe that Jesus Christ gave two ordinances for His church to follow, THE LORD’s SUPPER (communion) and BAPTISM.

We believe in the personal, premillenial and pretribulation rapture of the church; and that there will be a bodily resurrection of the unjust into the Great White Throne Judgment and the eventual condemnation to everlasting conscious punishment in the lake of fire.

We believe that each believer is an equal member of the holy and royal priesthood. Because all believers are priests, we need no mediator other than Jesus Christ to approach God directly.

Salvation - How May I Become a Christian?

STEP ONE: THE SINNER
There is a reason you need to be saved! "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

STEP TWO: THE SENTENCE
The penalty for your sin is ETERNAL DEATH! "For the wages of sin is death; but the GIFT of God is ETERNAL LIFE through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

STEP THREE: THE SAVIOR
God has made the provision for your sinful condition — Christ! "But God commendeth His Love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

STEP FOUR: THE SCOPE WHOSOEVER
"And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Acts 2:21)

Our Mission

It is clear to the leaders of Highview Christian Fellowship that as a whole, the church must function on the principles laid down by the Word of God.

The Lord said,”On this rock I will build My Church and the very gates of hell will not prevail against it.” The Rock has not changed. The question to each congregation and each individual believer is: Will we stand firmly on the rock, the Lord Jesus Christ, and center our lives around His Will, His Way and His Word?

It is a command of God that all true believers become involved in the work of the ministry and evangelism. Therefore:

Our Mission Is:
TO GLORIFY GOD – Ephesians 3:21: “To Him be the Glory in the Church.” It is the duty of each believer to glorify God. We glorify Him in worship. This worship is all consuming, which means we must yield our total selves in obedience to God. As we individually magnify Christ in our lives, the Word says people will see our good works and glorify the Father who is in Heaven.

TO EQUIP SAINTS – In Ephesians Chapter 4: God reveals to us that he has given gifts to the Church for the building up of the saints for the work of the ministry. It is imperative that the church have a vibrant and dynamic teaching ministry. The purpose is so that a person’s heart may be touched and transformed through the Word of God. All believers should be in a learning environment so that they can teach others, even if it is only the one-on-one discipleship of another saint (2 Tim 2:2). The church is not a one man show. For it to function well, it must be a “body effort” where each member is in support of the other.

TO MAINTAIN HOLINESS – It is imperative that the church maintain a standard of holiness, which is based upon a “High View” of God and not man-made standards. He commands us to be Holy as He is Holy. Therefore, the church must be active in church discipline which is an expression of Agape type love.

TO EVANGELIZE – Christ commissions us to evangelize (Matthew 28). Our purpose is to share the Gospel with those who need their minds and hearts unshackled. It is not something we do if the mood strikes us, but rather be consistently and actively involved in an evangelical ministry.

It is important that every believer makes a conscious decision to follow Christ in loving obedience.
